To tighten sagging skin, you need a cream or lotion containing the most effective ingredients. This is an issue that often accompanies the aging process. So, most of the ingredients are found in anti-aging creams. Here’s a look at some of the most effective ones.
Keratin is a protein found in the skin’s outer layers. If properly formulated, it can be picked up and used by the skin’s cells, according to researchers, when it is applied topically.
As it enters the skin’s cells, it pulls moisture along with it. That is one of the functions of keratin; to absorb moisture and pull it into the cell.
Studies have shown that the special keratin formulations work to stimulate the production of new cells and new fibers. As we age, the production of new cells and fibers slows down. Fewer cells mean that the skin’s layers are thinner. Fewer fibers mean that it is more likely to sag.
On top of that, you have decreased moisture content, which is a common problem as you get older. The new keratin formulas can address all of those issues. After about three weeks of use, a 40% improvement in firmness and elasticity has been seen.
Not only does it tighten sagging skin, it also increases the skin’s ability to retain moisture. You can say “bye-bye” to dryness issues.
RIGIN is one of the new peptide formulations. Peptides are being used for a variety of purposes. They are something like protein fragments, in that they include amino acids, but only short chains of them. Proteins contain longer chains of amino acids.
RIGIN seems to be particularly beneficial for people that need to tighten sagging skin on their necks. The improvement is similar to that seen with keratin, but only on the neckline. No one appears to know why that is the case.
RIGIN can be found in anti-aging facial masks. Manufacturers typically recommend that you use the mask every two weeks in order to see continued improvement.
I found one mask that contains RIGIN and keratin. I’m not sure what the combination of the two ingredients can do for you. But I would definitely say it is worth a try.
Personally, I do not have an issue with lost firmness. But, I have been using one of the best anti-aging creams on a daily basis for years.
What Doesn’t Work
Obviously, there are lots of ingredients that do not work to tighten sagging skin. The best suggestion is to do the research. Look for unbiased opinions about whether or not the ingredient is a good one. Don’t take the company’s word for it.
Urea is one of the most common ingredients in the big brand names. It actually does nothing to improve firmness. It dries out the skin’s outer layers, which makes them feel tighter. As far as appearances go, it usually causes redness and it does nothing to tighten sagging skin. Urea is just one example. You might want to take the time to learn about some of the others before you buy anything.
