Anti Aging Skin Care Wrinkles

By Skin Care Editor | July 21, 2009

When it comes to anti-aging skin care, wrinkles are the primary, but not the only target.  Sagging and age spots are other common targets.  Luckily, the same ingredients address all of those common complaints.  Here’s a quick look at them.

Ubiquinone

Ubiquinone is better known as coenzyme Q10, a nutrient with potent antioxidant activity.  Research has shown that it is a “must have” for effective anti-aging skin care; wrinkles seem to fade away when it is applied topically.  In case you want the specifics, here are the results that researchers have noted after six weeks of use.

Sun damaged skin and aged skin are pretty much the same.  The skin looks rough, wrinkled, saggy and dry.  Age spots are caused by sun exposure.  So, obviously, repairing sun damage reverses age spots.

Keratin

Keratin is a protein that makes up over 80% of the epidermis…that’s the skin’s outermost layer.  The epidermis consists of four to five sub-layers.  Beneath those layers are the dermis layers.

In the dermis are found collagen and elastin, the skin’s “mother” or stem cells and melanocytes.  The most dangerous form of skin cancer (malignant melanoma) occurs in the melanocytes.  When it comes to skin care wrinkles might be one of your concerns, but you should be concerned about the skin’s health and how it works, too.

The melanocytes produce melanin, which is responsible for the skin’s color.  Clumps of melanin sometimes form freckles.  As fair-skinned people get older, they sometimes see clumps of melanin on areas that are frequently exposed to sunlight.

The active form of the protein keratin has been shown to stimulate the skin’s antioxidants capacity, important for skin care, wrinkles and more.  Antioxidants help prevent damage that can lead to cancerous formations.  No one has yet to say that keratin creams can help prevent skin cancer, but they are certainly better for your skin than a sunscreen.  Specific results:

Be sure that when you look for keratin as an ingredient, you look for the active form.  Most companies refer to it as “functional” keratin

Other Skincare Wrinkles Advice

Always use mild cleansers, avoiding exfoliants and scrubs.  Choose cleansers that contain natural antibacterial and antioxidant agents like tea tree oil or manuka honey.  After every bath or shower, use an effective moisturizer, one that contains keratin and coenzyme Q10.

Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, because of the antioxidants that they contain.  Be sure that your protein intake is adequate, because the body needs it to produce new cells and fibers.  Take a good multi-nutritional supplement and an omega-3 supplement.  Skin cells need nourishment, just like the rest of the body.

The best anti-aging skin care wrinkles reducers provide nourishment that we apply directly.  They are safe, effective and good for your skin’s health.  What more could we want?
