Anti-Aging Skin Care – Creams and Foods to Restore Youthful Beauty

Want to learn about an effective anti-aging skin care routine?

The suggestions here have been the subjects of scientific trials.  Although researchers are still more interested in curing cancer and the common cold, there are a few groups that focus on wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, sagging necklines and other signs of age.  Here’s what they suggest.

The slogan of “you are what you eat” has come and gone.  A new one might be “eating for youth”.  It’s doubtful that we will ever find the elusive fountain of youth and we can’t travel back in time, but we can (probably) look as young as we feel.

A good diet is an important part of an anti-aging skin care routine.  Foods that should be included in your diet include:

Those foods provide the proteins necessary for the body to build new skin cells.  They provide essential fatty acids, the primary component of the skin’s sebum.  Most importantly, they provide antioxidants.

If it were not for antioxidants, we would not have anti-aging skin care.  Oxidation is one of the primary causes of cellular aging.  Without oxidation, nothing would degrade or deteriorate.  So, we cannot avoid oxidation completely, but we can keep it to a minimum, with lots of antioxidants.

Foods to Avoid

The things that we do not do are just as important as the things that we do in our anti-aging skin care regimens.  The foods that we should eat are those that are healthy for the entire body.

The foods that we should not eat are dangerous for entire body.  The foods to avoid include:

Those foods are simple carbohydrates.  They cause a spike in glucose.  They are digested too quickly.  They cause the production of Advanced Glycation End-products, more aptly referred to as the acronym “AGEs” and they cause wrinkles.

Doctors that have been trying to get their patients to eat right for years now have one more thing to tell their patients.  Junk food makes you look older, before your time.

Creams and Lotions

Some of the latest research has concerned topically applied anti-aging skin care creams.  Scientists have found that antioxidants can be applied directly and the result is greater and faster than if they were eaten.

Certain proteins can also be applied directly.  Those can stimulate the production of new cells and fibers.

Of course, in order for a person to see results, the manufacturer must include the right antioxidant or protein and it must be included in the right concentration.

The most effective antioxidant, according to numerous studies is coenzyme Q10.  The most effective protein is keratin.

If you buy a cream that contains vitamin C and collagen, then you have an antioxidant and a protein, but you won’t see results.

Buy an anti-aging skin care cream that contains coenzyme Q10 and keratin, on the other hand, and you will see results.  Take a few moments, now, to learn more about choosing good skincare products.  The more you know…the better.
